A serious motorbike accident changed the trajectory. Recovery turned into a deep interest in workplace health and safety. Dilawar moved into HSE roles across heavy industry, civil construction, petrochemical, power generation, facilities and education, throughout the Middle East, South East Asia and Pacific regions. The environments where compliance is not a checkbox, it's a daily safety call.
Stepped into a QHSE role leading management system activities, including taking an organisation through to third party certification. The first hands on look at what ISO certification really demands of a business, from the inside out.
Started delivering accredited HSE courses independently. The teaching habit took hold here, and so did the early evidence that training without business context fails the learner.

During an audit of an environmental waste management business in Melbourne, Dilawar met a consultant who had taken thousands of dollars from the company, and could not distinguish an internal audit from an inspection. Two major nonconformances raised that day. Advice given: find someone competent.
The deeper realisation was structural. Auditors have governance: certified training, peer reviews, technical reviews, approval requirements, audit logs. Consultants, who charge clients far more, have nothing. Worse, some take undisclosed commissions from certification bodies and steer clients to specific CBs. Dilawar left SAI Global and founded CertBetter to bring verification, transparency and visibility of conflict of interest to ISO certification.
ISO consultants have no formal association, no peer body, no governance. Anyone can call themselves a consultant. Dilawar started the ISO Consulting Forum for the ANZ region, now 50+ members with monthly online sessions. The 2030 mission: turn the forum into a credible governance body so businesses can permanently avoid cowboys.
After repeated LinkedIn messages from auditors asking how to actually improve, Dilawar concluded most auditor courses recite standard jargon and brainwash with century old concepts disconnected from real business. Audit Workshop launched as a one day auditing skills practice built on Dilawar's 5 skill framework. Zero standard recital, pure audit craft. Now expanding into accredited courses in partnership with Exemplar Global.
